Where Y’At? – Album
O yeah, it’s finally there: Where y’at ? In spring 2016 the Soul Snatchers released their 3rd full album titled ‘Where y’at ?”. Even heavier than before, the listeners will be treated on this album to some New Orleans flavors. Some Snatchers went to visit Nola earlier and decided it was about time to bring more crescent grooves into the recording process. That’s exactly what happened but as always, the Snatchers mixed it up with everything they like as long as it grooves. So one can expect an album full of Soul & Funk with some greasy Nola flavors on top it. Yet another Finger-licking sensation! The album is available on cd, vinyl (plus download code) and as digital download. It can be ordered at your local recordshop or at our own webshop available at Social Beats . com Enjoy! New Single – Who I Am ft Jimi Bellmartin
The waiting is over. After releasing their debut album ‘Sniffin’ and Snatchin” in 2007, The Soul Snatchers are back with a brand new single featuring dutch soul legend Jimi Bellmartin with the track ‘Who I Am’. In many ways it’s exactly what you would expect from a good Soul band. An outstanding groove, wah-wah guitars and some tight horns. However the voice and strong melody of Jimi Bellmartin take the song even further and brings an element of the unexpected to a song that feels instantly familiar. The Soul Snatchers made once again another most carefully crafted soul tune ! Continue reading

Socialized Funk Beats
I couldn’t encourage Phil Martin more than with these words from War, my favorite band: “Keep on doing what you doing, cause whatever you are doing, it sure sounds good to me”. Without a doubt he is one of the hardest working people in the field of Dutch nu jazz and funk. Whether working as a producer, musician or remixer, every week one or more songs come flowing out of his studio. Continue reading
Sniffin’ & Snatchin’ Album
Here you have the first original full album by The Soul Snatchers on record label Social Beats.
Real Soul Music never dies. That’s what the insatiable musicians of the Dutch band The Soul Snatchers prove every time they treat a swinging crowd to their timeless, down to earth funk and soul tunes, that find their roots in the sexy Sixties and Seventies of the 20th century. Taking pure Soul Music right across the bridge into the new century, The Soul Snatchers combine unknown classics and original compositions into a show that not only appeals to connoisseurs, but just as well to bigger, more mainstream-oriented audiences. The Soul Snatchers don’t claim to have invented Soul Music. Neither do they pretend to re-invent it. They… just HAVE it! And they LOVE to share it with Funk- Soul lovers in every corner of the globe.
Founded rock solid on the well oiled rhythm section of clean drums and thumping bass, the dangerously growling Hammond organ and the reverbing guitar sounds find their way to your soul blindly. Add to that the threeheaded copper section The Dynamite Horns, the tormented throat of female singer YoYo and the charismatic performances of singer Curtis T. and special guest vocalist Jimi Bellmartin…and all ingredients for a real Soul Party are present.
In February 2008 The Soul Snatchers’ first full album will be released with mainly original compositions, named ‘Sniffin’ and Snatchin’ The 11 short’n’spicy soul tracks with the Sixties Sound all over them result in an album with a good old LP-length. So… no wonder ‘Sniffin’ and Snatchin’ ‘ is available on nice crispy black vinyl!
7″ Can’t Stand It – People People
In September 2007 the second 7″ record, with Dutch Soul singing sensation Jimi Bellmartin was released. Jimi stormed the charts in the early 1970’s with funky songs like ‘So Fine’ and ‘Moviestar’, and even held the no.1 position in Latin America for several weeks. During the past few decades he has toured with people like Eric Burdon, Percy Sledge and Lou Rawls. The CD ‘Dutch Rare Groove’ brought Jimi back into the limelight in 2005 with his own vintage Soul tracks. Over the past years he toured all the major Dutch venues and brought the soulful hits from the 70’s back to life triumphantly, together with musicians like Oscar Harris, Peter Smidt and Louis Debeij.
